2011 International D.A.R.E. Training Conference
Thursday, December 09, 2010
Many of us have enjoyed past International D.A.R.E. Training Conferences at the Gaylord Opryland Resort & Convention Center. The venue is truly distinctive and in itself offers a unique experience.
In early May 2010, the property was closed because of damage resulting from historic flooding in Nashville. Photographs and video at the time showed the interior of the hotel resembling an aquarium, with furniture and fixtures bobbing in water as deep as 24 feet. Damage to the hotel was extensive with approximately 70 percent of the common areas and 100 percent of the subterranean areas under water.
On November 15th, following six months and $270 million in repairs and upgrades, Gaylord Entertainment Co. has reopened the 2,881-room Gaylord Opryland Resort & Convention Center.
This summer, Opryland will present a conference experience even more pleasurable than in the past. You will be impressed with improvements and redesigns to enhance your stay including new restaurants, improved comfort and luxury of hundreds of hotel rooms, an upgrade of both the technology and the layout of the lobby area for a better entry experience, and improved meeting rooms.
Conference information, which will be continuously updated, is posted on www.dare.org. Conference registration is scheduled to begin in January 2011.
