Richard Smith, D.A.R.E. America Youth Advocacy Board California Representative

My name is Richard Smith and I am a sophomore from Tracy, California. I like to participate in speech and debate events, marching band, and activities at my church. In my spare time I like to study American history and politics. I volunteer at organizations in my community, like Brighter Christmas, Tracy Senior Association and Case for Kids. I enjoy speaking at my local D.A.R.E. graduations because I feel like I am able to make a positive impact in my community.

I’ve seen troubled youth make poor decisions, and some of them make good ones that turn their lives around. I set out to guide troubled children down the right path in life and ideally, prevent kids from starting down the wrong path. I firmly believe in the teachings of the D.A.R.E program and I wish to help all children see the values of D.A.R.E as much as I do. I am honored to serve as the D.A.R.E. America Youth Advocacy Board California Representative.
