John Lindsay

John Lindsay has brought to D.A.R.E. America a diverse and impressive career in public service. After earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from the University of California, Berkeley, John served as a police officer and robbery/homicide detective with the Palo Alto Police Department in Northern California, a city recognized for its progressive, community-oriented police department. During his time with the department, John earned 35 commendations.

Upon being selected by the United States Department of Justice as a Pickett Fellow, John left the department and attended Harvard University where he earned a Master of Arts degree in Public Administration at the John F. Kennedy School of Government. As a graduate student at Harvard, he worked with the Boston Police Department’s Operation Night Light, as well as spearheading the efforts of a Boston think tank, The Pioneer Institute, to identify innovative government programs.

After leaving Harvard, John served as a staff director at the White House Office of National Drug Control Policy where he led the daily operations of 20 White House staff in direct support of the then White House Drug Czar, General Barry R. McCaffrey.

Prior to D.A.R.E. America, John served as an Assistant City Manager for Planning and as the Chief of Staff for the mayor of the City of Miami, Florida.

John’s region includes: Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, North CarolinaOklahoma, South Carolina, and Texas.
