Police Department Announces D.A.R.E. Graduations

The Orchard Park Police Department along with the Orchard Park School District recently announced the D.A.R.E. graduation dates for fifth-grade classes from Ellicott Elementary School and St. John Vianney School.

The students being recognized have completed a 15-week curriculum.

Five classes from Ellicott will graduate at 1:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 12. One class from St. John Vianney will graduate at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 31. Four classes graduated from Eggert Elementary School on Jan. 10.

During the ceremonies, students receive their graduation certificates, listen to a guest speaker, and are recognized by elected town and county officials, along with police and school district administrators.

The program is taught by D.A.R.E. Officers Brian Lukowski and Kristen Mazur.

D.A.R.E. addresses drugs, violence, bullying, internet safety and other high-risk circumstances, according to its website.
