St. Peter Catholic School DARE Graduates 2017

The Marshall Police Department held a Drug Abuse Resistance Education (D.A.R.E.) graduation ceremony for students at St. Peter Catholic School on Thursday, May 11.

According to a news release, Mrs. Simonton’s fifth-grade students (right) just completed the 10-week D.A.R.E. program, which was taught by Detective Sergeant William McMellen. D.A.R.E. is designed to educate children about the dangers of drugs and violence.

The D.A.R.E. curriculum covered resisting peer pressure, drug-abuse resistance, healthy relationships and confidence in making healthy choices. Prior to completing the program, all students were required to complete a report reflecting what they learned from the D.A.R.E. program.
